Future Conceptual Plans
Future development concepts include; (1) a road system connecting the development to highway 270, (2) a Golf Course and or City Park, (3) a residential area.
The road concept would allow all of Willow Creek access to the McAlester city streets, highway 69, and highway 270 to the east. Retail visitors as well as residents to the south of Willow Creek (such as Kinkaid Hills) who were traveling east could completely avoid the commercial retail traffic congestion that exists on highway 69 and it's service roads by utilizing our road system. This road plan would lessen the current traffic congestion that now exists on highway 69 as well as the service roads that parallels highway 69.
The area depicted in purple is within the flood plane and is not viable for developments with structures. One idea is to turn this area into a Golf Course and or a city park. Due to the topography, this area lays on the east side of the development giving it the appearance and serenity of being out in the country completely removed from the retail developments along the west side. Incorporated in this area are tall trees and a creek system that runs east/west just south of the train tracks. Even though you are less than a mile from the highways, it is quite and peaceful in this secluded area.
The area just to the south colored in blue is considered a good area for a residential development containing 200 acres mol. It would be adjacent to Kinkaid hills to the south and the golf course and or city park to the north. Just like the golf course, the topography shields this area from both the retail development and highway 69. Utilities and roads would have to be developed.
